Walk through one of Australia’s more famous prisons and now notorious beer gardens and indulge in a fantastic journey of sampling and tasting some of the best craft beers and ciders available in Australia. Meet and chat to the craft brewers, who will take over Pentridge D Division cells, on this interesting beer trail, as the adventure winds itself around this unique and history filled space. Stimulate more than your taste buds as you discover the world where some of Australia’s more notorious prisoners were housed. Prisoners like Chopper Read, Ronald Ryan, Squizzy Taylor, Dennis Allen and more.

In addition to the craft brewers, there will be live music with Matt-Peter Fry, great food provided by Aussie Farmers Direct, The Glass Den café and prison tours of the “Notorious” D Division conducted by an ex prison warden.

There will also be a home brew demonstration by the Merri Mashers. The Mashers will be brewing their ANHC Four Ultimate Session Beer from 2pm.

A competition to win a fridge full of craft beer is up for grabs as the door prize. The Glass food vouchers will also be available to win on the day.
Entry is by way of a gold coin donation with proceeds going to the Melbourne City Mission.

And the Saturday. Hopefully some people can make it to both!

Was good to get in and see the prison. But almost impossible to sample the beers due to there being too many people for the size of the venue.

Was so packed you could hardly move, and I gave up eventually and went home.
