Northern Beaches Hbs

Guys,
I am travelling from Brisbane to Sydney Northern Beaches (Avalon) over Xmas New year. Are their any HBS that stock liquid yeasts that are worth looking at & bottle shops etc that stock quality imported beers (read NO VB).

There's a Country Brewer in Dee Why.
I've been there a few times and the guy is a nice bloke and he has some liquids (Whitelabs). Probably best to call and check though as he didn't keep a full range, but can order whichever you want if he doesn't have it in stock.

dave's homebrew in North Sydney (Miller street) carries a decent range of white labs.
and i know the bottlo's in Mosman area (Milatary road) carry a good range of belgian/german/english beers.
they are both 20 minute drive from Avalon

you could also try Gerard @ northern districts brewing. No shop front but he delivers!!

I live on the northern beaches. The 2 hbs I go to have already been mentioned - Country Brewer at Dee Why and Dave's Home Brew at North Sydney (a good lunchtime stroll from my work). Last time I was at country brewer I didn't see the liquid yeasts, but I haven't got into them yet. Dave's seem to have whitelabs yeasts.

As for imported beers, the BWS at Elanora seems to have a good range as far as I am concerned (the best local bottle-o for me). But seriously, if you're at Avalon, you should be able to find some decent beers locally in Avalon or up towards Palm beach where the folk with the money hang out over summer... (i.e. within 5-10 minutes drive).

I know the guy at Dee Why does NOT stock liquid yeast. He will only order in what you want. The go would be to contact Mel Robson at www.esbeer.com.au, give him your credit card particulars and the courier will deliver your selected yeast in a nicely chilled package right to where you are staying...too easy!!
Now the beer selection....go to the liquor store at Palm Beach (right next to Avalon) they are at 1109 Barrenjoey Road, Palm Beach, they have a huge range of imported beauties.
