whoops... i emptied the star san using co2 and then got too excited and filled the keg without emptying it... hope there wasnt too much in there!

You'll be fine. Did that recently on a mini keg on natural carbonation. Two weeks later, no problems, no taste. Any minor amount will turn into a yeast nutrient, so as long as your dip tube goes to the bottom, you would only have had about 10 ml at most left in there. 10ml of 1.5ml/L solution in 17-18L of beer = sweet F.A.

Is soda water as easy as filling a keg and gassing it?

That's all I do, fill it with tap water, stick it in the fridge and hit it with gas. I usually hit it with high pressure gas for a day or two to get it done quicker but it doesn't matter if it over carbonates a bit, it doesn't foam up like beer does.
