Jye, your local hbs has some hard back copies if you ask...

cheers Ross

Nice stuff Mike, thanks for sharing with us.

You could even plug that site straight to the links section. That way it won't end up buried in the pub.

Anyone who hasn't explored the links section, take an hour or two (or days) to go surfing through the links.

Now I have to spend more time there :D

Any hbs names Ross to save me ringing around the country trying to find and organise a copy to be sent to me.

Cheers

Big D,

They only had a few copies, if they're not gone, I'll score you one & send it :)

Hi POL,

One needs to take "annual leave" to read only all the "good" info on this site.
 :D :chug:

Good stuff Mike.

When hop storage is classed as poor, fair or good, what length of time in an air tight container at -4C does that correspond with each?

Cheers.

From what I understand the HSI %(Hop Stability Index) is the %AA lost in 6 months stored in a poly bag at 20c. Good = 15%, Average = 25%, Bad = 50%
Therefore Cascade which has a bad HSI would drop from eg 6% AA to 3% AA in 6 months at 20c.
6 months In a poly bag at -4C this rises to 4.8%. in a jar or similar 5.1% & best of all in a vacuum pack 5.4%
Above figures courtesy of Beersmith.

Shows how important age, temperature & storage media are to your hops...

Cheers Ross
