I have owned a kegerator for about 5 years, and while I love it, it doesn't get cold enough (for my liking).

Even though the kegerator's thermostat say's, 3c, its closer to 6c.

The new kegerators being sold on ebay, and craftbrewer, are advertised as "newer design goes to -4c."

Can anyone confirm if this is true? Are they significantly colder than the older models?

The one I have owned for 5 years is also this exact brand (Euro-Grand)

I've got a Keg King that's goes to -04 however mine sits outside and I think it struggles a bit during summer mines usually set around 2 degrees.

I've just thrown my thermo pen in there and set it at 0 and I will let you know what it is in a while

Mine sits inside and I had to crash chill my wort a few weeks back. It froze the fermenter.... Yes, the current model.

I have the current KK model and it gets really cold, easily to 0, but haven't tried to get to -4

im pretty sure you can retro fit the new temp controller from an old one, i have one of these laying round from when a compressor packed it in and i got a new unit under warranty

I have the series 3 and at -4 deg it will freeze water. The temp is off by about 3 deg which you can fix with the mod above.

That's a really good idea, I'm going to find a spare probe with a longer cable to modify so I can dangle it in some water or stick to side of fermenter/keg.
