Hi all, recently been thinking about entering a few beers into some comps, nothing too exotic, just apa's, ipa's and the likes. Basically how does the scheduling work?
My questions are
1) Im based in Victoria, what competitions should I be looking at to enter, are there any others aside from Vic Brew and the Austrian ameture brewers one? I'd just like to know what I could potentially enter in.

2) There websites don't have too much to say about 2013, are the comps all usually around 1 time of year?

3) Is it best to always bottle a couple of long necks to enter in comps, is that what the usual requirements at competitions?

Thanks for the help

Mate, that's a long way to send your beer just for a comp, halfway around the globe, especially considering you're just starting out!

The Vicbrew site does have a section for competitions with a list for the current year. Based on the beers you mention, Pale Ale Mania run by the Worthogs later this year is probably your bag.

Good luck!!
