Hey guys,

Was looking at making an extract brew tomorrow, it's gonna be my 2nd one (I did Neil's Centenarillo last week).

I have a few ingredients lying around & was hoping some of you more experienced folk might be able to guide me on making a nice little ANZAC batch.

Inventory is:
1.5kg Coopers LME can
couple of kilos of LDME
some Dex

Hops:
POR ~75g
Summer Saaz ~75g
Amarillo ~400g
Centennial ~400g

Yeast:
S-04 Fermentis
A US-05 equivalent
& Some various leftovers from Coopers kits.

Anyone reckon something for this stuff?

Cheers
Goldy

It's your beer mate and you are the one that's gotta drink it so make whatever you want.
Have a go at IanH's Spreadsheet http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum//ind...st&id=33240 and see what you can come up with. For me putting things together and coming up with my own recipe is one of the most enjoyable parts.
Once you have something together maybe post it for some critique or alternate point of view.

Sweet, thanks Gavo, reckon I'll give that a go tomorrow then.

@Boagsy, yeah mate, I still struggle with the numbers on recipes & making them good, have the spreadsheet & have found it really helpful. Hopefully my brain will start understanding the science a little better soon..

Forgot to mention, only have a 15ltr pot to to do boils in too.

What would you recommend for the amounts for a smaller boil?

Thanks again

I would put the dry malt, and hops in a 10 ltr boil, then top up with the goo and another 10 litres of pre boiled water in the fermenter

I would probably use the por for bittering and Saaz in the finish, seeing as you already have the centillo to drink

Another stupid question...

They look like beersmith format recipes?

Am having trouble importing them, I tried saving as .txt file.. Probly not correct though eh

Yep they are Beersmith recipes, Just enter them in manually otherwise you would have to change other items also such as equipment. As for the boil, Paul has go that covered for you.

Cheers
Gavo.

Dark lager with POR and finish with touch saaz. Make it real dark like almost porter territory. Be good to use a bit of treacle or golden syrup and throw some rolled Oates in fir silkynesd. Make porridge with them before then add into the mash/ boil.

Thanks Paul.
