These look pretty awesome & just wondering how many of you guys out there are using one.
Some photos of it in action would be good...... :beerbang:

Bought mine last week, gave it a dry run....maybe that should be wet run.
I used 15 litres of water just to see what the ramp times and what level of control I got from the Hermit controller, I am very impressed, does everything it claims.
I have gone the kettle route for a HEX and this also performed really well. No pictures yet but hopefully soon.

Just got mine.. building the rig atm.. just gotta get some steel for the main carriage .. then finish wiring the control box.. Nev is a great guy to deal with

G'day Yob
I was looking for some feed back on the actual controller as I am full bottle on Nevs HEX
I think it's the best way to go about step mashing but I am only currently using stc-1000s for both the kettle and the hex

aah, gotcha... I thought there was a thread for that too somewhere, maybe within the HERMIT thread?

Yeah when I get the time I will look into it more
Nev showed me it but I haven't read any reports yet

Thanks Yob. Yeah. The actual controller is not there any more. Just the coil and the HXSS set (which is very pretty!)

I've also looked the Matho's controller threads, but it seems that you have to be an electronics wizz as well as a brewer - and I'm not.

Laels kit is build it yourself but on the simplest level, screw in a few things, plug in some wires. If you can follow simple instructions you can put this together. That said you'd want to get onto Lael pretty quickly.

Note I did build one of these controllers from scratch in the very first run, I had not done any electronics in my life and couldn't tell you the difference between a transitor and a diode. Lael's kit is a solderless build easy as.
