My chesty is only getting down to 11c so I'm thinking it's time to replace it. I saw these on ebay.

I asked the seller what the energy star rating was and received this reply

Hi,

this freezer is rates as "commercial" as it has a condenser unit and therefore does not require to have a energy star rating.

So is this going to be a energy guzzler?

Imo yes. Its a bs answer. As far as I was aware all heating/cooling appliances got a rating incl commercial units. More than likely its a cheap import that hasnt been energy tested

The BD/C-408 are a Chinese import. I think the motor would be as efficient, but it would be an unknown level of insulation. Also how long it would last is an unknown factor.

What's the price of that size in a shop here. It may not be as energy efficient as a better one here but if your only running it at 2-4 degrees it wouldn't be working very hard and using much power would it? Doesn't sound like it has any warranty past thirty days but hey.
