Hi All,

I have recently purchased a second hand keg king kegerator, series two I think. It is the one with the curved front and the single tap font. Previously I had a chest freezer with a dual font on top, however the compressor died on that and it was cheaper to get this kegerator.

I was hoping to change the fonts over however I have found that the holes in the bottom of the font do not match up with those on the kegerator. I was wondering if anyone has modified one of the dual fonts to fit these model kegerators. I should mention that the font was purchased a while ago from bay - pinnacle I believe.

If anyone has done modifications without having to drill into the fridge it would be appreciated if I could get some advise. Also if I can fit the dual font I will have a single font that I will be happy to depart with.

Cheers Sean

Sean,

I have one of these Keg King units and was faced with a similar issue. I have a curved front on my kegerator so I assume it is similar to mine.
My single font had a plastic adapter attached to the font tower which was attached with 3 bolts. I took the adaptor off and I had to resolve two issues. First of all, there were no pre-drilled holes in the 2 font tower which would fit and secondly the base of the two font tower was bigger than drip tray indentation so I had to raise it above the drip tray.
I made up a disc out of hardwood and drilled a hole in the centre for the two beer lines.
I attached the new font tower to this timber disc via a couple of timber screws and the plastic adapter was also attached with three screws. The overall outcome is fairly sturdy and I am happy with it. I do suspect that it lets in a bit more air than the original setup as it does frost up after 4-6 months of running the kegerator.\

Cheers Roller,

Was thinking of going the same route, using the hardwood under the font, do you have any pictures at all? Just to get an idea understand if you don't I am hopeless with uploading stuff on the net.

Cheers Sean
