Hey all,

I'm so pleased with myself I'm watching my first AG bubbling away nicely.

The recipe was a simple one, bits of grain and hops that have been left over from previous partials;

3.9kg Pale malt
0.46kg munich
0.25kg crystal

Mashed in a 20l drink cooler. 60mins at about 66'C then mash out at about 77'C. 2 spargings. ended up with 22l with a SG of 1.044.

bittering hops
20g nugget
5g perle

flavour hops
20g Cascade

aroma hops
18g Cascade

Ended up with 17l SG 1.054. Yeast used US 56.

Wasn't really trying to make a beer to style, just trying to make beer :p will let you know how it turns out

...and it sounds like you did just that.

Nice recipe and not overly hopped. A bit of colour and some maltiness in there too.

Looks the goods, dug...

Yeah sounds great!

better than my 1st attempt. Miscalculated my sparge volume, ended up with only 16L in the fermenter (shot for 23) @ 1.053

Increased my IBU to approx 43!

Wanting a American Amber Ale, seems like ive ended up with a IPA!

Main downside is Yeast wont attenuate as its still at 1.024

hopefully it gives a kick over the next week in secondary!
