Thanks for everyone's advice and input into moving the fridge.
After letting it stand for around 17 hours I hooked it up to the Tempmate and am happy to report that it's doing its job by lagering a lager at a fairly constant 2 degrees. The time of 17 hours was more to do with convenience than anything. My gut feeling (after reviewing everyone's advice) is that this time could be reduced considerably provided the fridge wasn't laid on its side.
