Just seen this on vice and I'm wondering what implications this might have on the home brewing scene?
I'll state that it's your life and if your on your way out you should have the right to do what you want to, to end your suffering. IMO!

Wow... look... really support being able to end things if living with your terminal condition gets to much... but fark, I really wish he hadn't linked brewing with it.

I'd really, really hate for this to lead to heavy regulation of gas for brewing. Cos it wouldn't just be N2... you can bet they would regulate CO2 as well as it could be used for the same purpose (though very much less pleasantly).

Shouldn't impact it much, you can grab an acetylene cylinder for plumbing or similar uses and take it home. You could easily kill multiple people with that.

What I don't understand is by the founder being in that video does that not suggest enough evidence as to what the primary intent of the business is, enough to implicate the company? Any lawyers care to chime in?

Just googled to find out more, found an ABC report on it from 2012 - hopefully since we haven't seen any direct ramifications of it in homebrew stores yet, it means authorities get the difference.

That said, all gasses used in homebrew are pretty dangerous and should carefully regulated...

I just stumbled upon this on youtube today and was going to start a discussion on this, and was surprised to see after a search that it had already started. Recently.

Im in support of euthanisia, but for the right reasons.

The reason i say this is because during my training as a student nurse, and working amongst the elderly as part of my work placement. I have seen the depressive scene that is the common nursing home. Day after day i have come across people who didnt want to live anymore. These people are clinically sane, suffering from some debilitating illnesses and quite understandably, simply had enough.

The last couple of years I have had the cloud of the black dog hang over me, and this concept of what Mad Dog Brewing is doing really scares the absolute **** out of me. Knowing it is that easy to obtain the gas and then be educated on how to use it.

I think its time to put a petition down in place and have these pricks persecuted. It isnt any good for the homebrew community, nor is it any good for a young mentally unwell person to obtain this gas so easily.

I read up a bit more on it, I was interested in the autopsy report not showing anything, this is not so, and it can be done with helium or nitrous oxide.
But I suppose if someone is determined they want out they will find a way.
