Hello All,

I'm new to the AG, just setting up the bar and all grain brewing setup :)

I've been looking around the net and tried to come up with my own recipe. Just wondering if someone could take a look and let me know what they think?

2.50kg x Munich Malt
1.00kg x Pale Malt
1.30kg x Pilsner
0.80kg x Vienna Malt
0.20 kg x Cara-Pils/Dextrine
28.35g x Tettnang [4.50 %] - Boil 15.0 min
28.35g x Hallertauer Hersbrucker [4.00 %] - Boil 10.0 min
28.35g x Northern Brewer [8.50 %] - Dry Hop 12.0 Days
2.0pkg x Saflager Lager (DCL/Fermentis #W-34/70) [50.28 ml]

I'll be making a yeast starter using a stir plate.

It will be my first AG, however I won't be brewing it for a while, just want to organise some recipes in the brewing software and have some form of an idea from reading these forums.

Wiser people than me can advise about the grain bill, but I just bottled a batch of Marzen, for which I used Wyeast 2633 Oktoberfest. I suppose it should be more suitable for the style. Just my 2c worth

What sized batch and are you doing a decoction mash or how (mash profile) are you planning to do it?

I'd suggest using simple brews/techniques for a while until you build confidence in your gear.

There's plenty of more talented brewers on here than me and i'm sure there's a bucketload of great Marzen Oktoberfest recipes floating around.

+ 1 on 2633 for me too. Great results.
