G'day folks,
I'm going for my 1st water adjustment brewing a Partial Scottish Ale and gunna try and get the water profile close too the Edinburgh profile using the Beersmith software. What i,m concerned about is when too add the ingredients, in the mash, in the fermenter, in the starter and does it really matter?

thanks :(

Make up a batch- worth of water beforehand as you want water that's mashing your grain to be approximating the desired source water, in this case the Edinburgh profile. You may have to make it up in another container (a fermenter would do), some folks do this a day or two beforehand, I think that's to do with the solubility of some additions, and I'd imagine for the harder profiles in particular.
