There's an aggressive male on the path into town, I'm about to try out my solution today and will report.

Behold the mighty Bribie Maggienator®

It's ok, all the magpies up your way should be fairly stoned, they wouldn't be able to hit you anyways

There's an alternative solution Bribie, and no silly hat involved at all (unless you wish that is, maybe moreso for volvos I suppose)- drive the car! ;)

Ok, I'll be off now, just getting my coat.

That hat is brilliant. Take your trademark and market those bad boys to the world!

I'd like to see how you go over a longer period of time, he may get used to it. After many years of magpie experiences on the Postie bike I won't be cheersing you with a beer just yet.

Apparently if you feed them, they learn that you are a nice person and stop swooping. Just you. They still swoop everyone else. But you are safe.

And hitting them with things is illegal... They are a protected species. And don't the smug bastards just know it. "ha ha... I'm pecking at your eyeballs and you aren't allowed to do anything about it... I'm a protected species".

Thats why I also repel the attack by swinging rabbit gripped by the hind legs at them.
Its an invasive spices, so it evens out.
In my mind anyway.

Have you tried duct-taping/cable-tying a house-cat, facing backwards, to your bike helmet?

That'd probably work.

Or perhaps a bird feeder ( currently 10% off at Masters), to expand on Airgeards idea.

The cat idea makes more sense though. Cheap and plentiful.
