Hi
saw this recipe at the ABC recipe site. Has anyone tried it?
Mad Manchester Chilli Sauce
Degree of difficulty: Low
You need:
5 habanero chillis (chopped and deseeded)
One teaspoon hot English mustard.
One small onion (chopped)
Two pieces of garlic (chopped)
One teaspoon cooking salt
Three tablespoons white vinegar
Three tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice
Splash of vegetable cooking oil
One cup of chopped carrots
One cup of water
Method:
Mad Manchester Chilli Sauce
Preparation
Place chillis, lime juice, vinegar, mustard and salt in blender.
Gently saut onions and garlic until soft (but not burnt) then add carrot and water and simmer until carrots are soft.
When carrots soft, place the mix (which should still contain a little water) into blender where chillis, lime, vinegar and salt are already.
Blend until smooth and then pour into sterilised containers.
The sauce should keep for several months in the fridge and even longer if frozen.
Adding more carrot lessons the heat factor of the sauce.
N.B. This sauce works only with habanero chillis.
