Hi All,
Have been using Safale Us 05 for my last couple brews and brewing at approx. 18-19 degrees with a temp controlled chest freezer.
I naturally assumed that ferment would take a bit longer than a standard ale yeast at hotter temps, but how long?
Is 10 days about right? Og 1048 Fg 1012
Also would you have to take gravity readings over a longer period of time if brewing at cooler temps to check that fermentation had finished? I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have racked into cc plastic too early. Beer tastes a bit sweet like unfermented sugars.
Interested if anyone has experience with this yeast and lower temps.
Thanks, Tribalfish.
