I'd just like to add to this my disregard for these kinds of people.

It seems alot of the people who are in IT these day...and making alot of money out of it too...have no comprehension of the roots, the good old days!
Pretty much the same story in any industry, guys.

And don't get me started on these BIAB n00bs...

I run my own business and each day is like a way to survive... not like drinking my own urine but a challenge to keep things turning over...

I wake up and do what I want to do - what I need to do - easy.

Edit: So, love it.

Run my own business, always pushing and attending Networking meetings (god forsake I brew beer, dont mention that) some real knobs.
Luckily I have worked hard, mortgage paid, kids doing good. I afford to network (not on AHB) Mondays and quote. I have now an apprentice and 2 aged care facilitilies added too the books. I need more and always working hard with the goal I love QLD!

I teach English over here, just casually I go to my student's houses and just have a conversation and get paid for it.
Some students have interesting things to talk about, Some don't.

Its not fantastic but since it fits in with my studies and there is 30% unemployment in my city, 22% national
and 45% youth/under 30 unemployment here in Spain. I'll keep doing it

Need "The job would be fantastic if it wasn't for Clients"

I love what I do but hate clients. Another thing I am struggling with at the moment is that the Sales team are now branded "Design Consultants" which has blown their egos out of proportion and think they can design a house - Wankers.

Draftsperson? Sales reps being called design consultants is such b/s! I used to work for a volume builder, never again. We have 4 staff where I work, its so much better than putting,up with large company b/s. I agree with clients too, but without them I wouldn't have a job :(

Meh,,,, rather be brewing!

If I didn't need money I would leave!

I always said when I grow up I want to be a lotto winner! still hasn't happened..............yet!

Been a chef for the last 12 years. I love where it has taken me - ie traveled the world, been able to pick up jobs easy. Worked in some great restaurants, but cannot stand it any more, cooking drives me crazy. Currently working out what else to do. Work for a bar/restaurant now out on the floor, which I don't mind, but it's only a transition. They also let me hang around the brewery asking questions, which helps :D

I love the food and beverage industry, I don't want to be in any other business. I just don't want to be standing in a kitchen for the next 30 years.

I'll lock in option one ;)

Wow I stand alone? I go to work even if I am half dead with the flu. I love it and it's in my blood. There have been times I have hated it but now with this new company things have really come full circle and together. Pay is brilliant as well
:icon_cheers:

I love it and hate it.

I'm in commercial construction. I'm a structural steel detail draftsman and 3D setout modeller by "trade" but these days I run my old mans structural steel fabrication business which was started by his (former) busines partner in 1969 - thus making us one of the oldest fabricators in Melbourne.

I'm 7th generation Australian going down dads line and 7th generation in the building industry.

I've worked on some interesting projects as a detailer including Fed Square, Logan hyper dome, Perth convention and exhibition centre, Adelaide law courts, Southern Cross Railway to name a few. It was great in my early days working for a company doing such projects - I learnt a lot.

Now working for dad we specialise in "shitty" jobs. Commercial renovation, schools, hospitals, uni's, tafes, larger houses etc.

Some days its the best job in the world and I earn a reasonable wage. I could get more else where with my experiance and skills but its a family thing.
I enjoy that I've helped "spruce up" the business and bring it into today (when I first came into the business it was near on antiquated). I've seen some big changes in the 5 years I've been here and I hope to see the business grow more and become much more efficient.

Then there are other days when my phone starts ringing at 6:30 in the morning. Or when builders threaten me with liquidated damages because of delays caused by others. Or when Im still in the office at 2am trying to organise stuff for my workshop to start on at 6:30 that morning. Those days I wonder why I do it and think "they dont pay me enough to put up with this bullshit!"

But hey I have a job. I have my health. I enjoy my job and I tend to live off the stress.
When everything is going well its almost a dream job - I rock on in about 9:30 and piss off about 6. (when its not I'm doing 75+ hour weeks and running on empty)
Gotta take the good with the bad.
Im also a bit of a workaholic. When I had glandular fever a few years back I nearly ended up with chronic fatigue because I couldnt stay home and rest - it bored me too much.

I supposed to a certain degree one of the main things I dont like about my job is working for my old man.
But one of the best things about my job is I get to work along side one of my best mates - my old man.

I love my primary job, however i wish the pay was better so I didn't have to work a 2nd and sometimes 3rd job.

I'm unemployed - thanks for the tax dollars guys!

Hey, no worries dude!

Guess what.

I'm self employed and just got a whopping tax bill.

I'll PM you my address and you can come round and mow my ******* lawn and clean bottles..

After doing fun things for a few years like running a paintball field and selling motorcycles I've been back in the financial industry for about 12 months now, thank you GFC.
My job is to call people who've had their car repossessed because they haven't made payments, explain that the car has been sold at auction, (usually for 4/5s of **** all) and that they need to pay the remaining balance.
Immediately.

Bit of a laugh sometimes, depressing part of the time, and soul-crushing most of the time.

selling motorcycles

The 1098 shows you to be a man of taste, and possibly a background in selling euro brands.
So tell me this if you can.
Why are local prices for KTM (and most euros) spares so ******* ridiculous? I don't want to support the US market and freight services - but what are you gonna do?

The sad fact is that when I sold Ducati, I learned that you can buy OEM parts from the US cheaper than the dealers here buy them from No ******* Idea (Australian Ducati importers).
Small market, prestige brands. Things are changing though. I'm all for supporting local dealers, but there's a limit.

Succinct and accurate.

Mines a 990 ADV though, so I'm willing to see past the the hassle of ordering spares from international suppliers due to the bikes shear awesomeness.

Kind of like if you were nailing Jessica Alba and discovered she farted loudly in her sleep. I could see past that to..
