Light beer🤬

Hi Guys and girls

Just brewed my first beer and after the second reading it's 1.8%
I went to a homebrew store and paid more for some inside info. I brought coopers sparkling as that's what I drink but they gave me an unbranded enhancer.
Would that be the reason or would other factors apply??

Hi Bigrus, my guess is the reading you took was incorrect. Can you give some details? Recipe/ingredients, volume, process, original gravity , timing, etc

What are you using to take your reading? If it's a refractometer your reading needs adjustment post fermentation.
Something is obviously off with your reading.

I agree with the others…with kit and kilo beers it’s almost impossible to end up a weak beer unless there’s some underperforming yeast.

Was was your OG and FG readings?

Chances are everything wasn’t mixed well when you put it all in the fermenter and your OG read lower than it actually was.
