Get this.

Last time i made a liquid yeast starter I made up too much wort (DME + water) so i stored 1.25l in the fridge.

Now about a month later i get it out & make up a starter using about 500ml of the wort & some liquid yeast from a previous starter.
THe starter has kicked off nicely but i also noticed the remaining wort in the 1.25l bottle also has developed a white foam on top. Smells of yeast but not bad.
I figure it has grown some wild yeast infection.

What the?

i would never store wort in the fridge for any extended period(ie more than a couple of days). excess wort should be frozen and then boiled as per preparing a normal starter.

i would be extremely careful with your starter and taste it b4 pitching.

i would also ditch the remaining wort.
