Hey guys,
Well ive been pretty quiet in the brewing scene for a few months now. Living on campus at uni pretty muched stoped my production but I have still been reading up a storm and reserching my move to AG. Well over the last two days since im home now for christmas I purchased to parts and got to work. So here is my first addition. My Brew kettle.
It was pretty run down and ugly with dints, sratches and scuff marks. I got her back to look reasonable with the same method as Texan Brew used (80, 220, 400 wetordry, 600 wetordry).
I got the parts from my local Mitre Ten and the bloke who served me was nice enough to help me put it together after I explained what I wanted. If anyone sees anythign wrong with it, particualy the pickup tube just holla so i can fix it as I was just going off what ive seen, its a compression fitting.

Outside before treatment

2 hours of sanding and new ball valve installed

Inside pickup tube
Is it ok that the teflon tape is exposed to the boil here because that compression nut wont go any tighter?
Next up I might try a BIAB first but other wise the mash tun is on the way, I plan on using a flase bottom with a SS through hole / skin fitting from a boat shop and installing it in the very bottom.
