I have been making a little stronger beers about 5.7 % recently and enjoy the relaxed feeling I get after a couple of pints .

I find I seem to handle stronger beers better at home than out with a group as probably I cant insult or offend anyone at home so easily .

After a busy day at work I am glad of a stronger beer , I dont suffer from hangovers with my beer .

How does your beer affect you do you become a 'Jekyle and Hyde' character or do you just fall asleep .

Pumpy

Personally i don't like real strong beers, my current is 6% where every other batch has been 4-5%. I enjoy having a beer constantly in my hand more than stumbling around after a few of em :)

How does alcohol effect me? See attached image, taken at our Halloween party after more than a few pots of Rye pale ale, a few stubbies of Coopers Pale Ale and a couple of other homebrews my mates brought over. :chug:

And a place that I'll never drink at again!

I like a beer much lighter.otherwise I'll be **** faced like at Bindi's

I usually feel it after a stubby of 5% beer, start talking crap after 2. I lose count after about 4 and I've been told I've easily drunk 15+ before without passing out/being sick. I feel sorry for the people that have to put up with me after that much  .

Most of my brews tend to float b/w 5% to 6% which I quite like. I did have a deceptively easy drinking APA that come in at 7% but I modified the recipe to bring it back to a more respectable 5.5%, I was getting absolutey munted on the stuff after 2 pints.

At my age I get pissed easy, and I like to sample beers.
I like lower % beers so I can sample them all, otherwise I appreciate being told of a high % beer.
I know several new home brewers who think high % beers are the go,please let your guests know if you are serving these.

Too true, Batz. I always tell my "tasters" how much alcohol is in the beer.

I too, get pissed very easily. But that has always been a problem (?).

There's nothing wrong being a Cadbury (a glass and a half). It can make nights out rather cheap.

Then again if you happen to go out on the town with particularly large people, you can end up quite messy, but theres always someone larger to catch you!

buggered if can remember :D ..cheers..spog...

Apparently I become 'chatty', at least that's what my wife told me. Can't be bothered working out what % my brews come to. I just drink them. Still after 2 longnecks and I'm normally feeling quite good.

At the moment not really quite one to reply! My wife just had our second lil girl! But I have to admit I do like a strong beer. I am a bit crappers right now, but I do like a strong beer. At least about 5:5 %

Slightly OT...congratulations, eric8. My two girls are currently adding up hours for their drivers' licences.

I'll have another beer to help you celebrate...

I think I am going to need it for the years to come!!
Thanks!!

hmm... well, first I get more relaxed, then I start getting louder... and louder.

After that comes the feeling of grandeur (everything I say becomes incredibly insightful, for some reason)

then the staggers, and more ranting.
