I am lucky in I have Foxtel, if not I would have either done myself in or more likely become a 24/7 alcoholic rather than just when I'm awake. Ha ha
Just more channels of crap. I have Foxtel too, but pretty much only for the AFL. Just waiting for the AFL to adopt a model similar to US-sports with a direct subscription model, then it will be just Netflix and the AFL channel.

Foxtel is incredibly disappointing and overpriced.

Agree, I've only got it for the NRL.

I recently had a whinge at them about their pricing and lack of good shows, managed to get them to chuck in the docos and drama pack for free. But lo and behold, just more channels of crap I don't want to watch.

Sure there are a lot of channels of crap on fox and besides the excellent sports there are excellent documentaries, history, national geo, top English crime shows, movies and so on. The price well it's not cheap and you get channels you don't want but I'd rather pay than watch Fing **** reality shows with the other crap free to air provides with all the ads and show time over-runs.

But in fairness it depends a lot on your life style, interests, time at home and personal circumstances.
Cheers

Sorry, off topic here

That's what I love about Netflix. No sports! Only drawback is they don't do porn. Yet.

Someone actually watches it still?

If they ever get it back to being about good food rather than the personalities at play, let me know. I might watch it again.

Netflix FTW

Has Foxtel got any beery type shows on these days?

Netflix is a beautiful thing. Total control, on what is available that is
It's far better than FTA TV, but still not that great. Definitely nowhere near total control (I used to get US Netflix but dropped it after I'd binge-watched the stuff I wanted and got bored with its limited content).

If you want legit total control then a set up that I've *cough* heard about *cough* sees a Raspberry Pi running Kodi media centre software (it would, theoretically, if one were so-inclined, cost about AU$90 all-up including cords, memory card etc to set up).It can stream virtually everything (not just what one company has the rights to).

The wife watches MKR and I can hear the tele from the study, popped out to check what was going on. Plenty of long neck bottles around the place but every one was drinking Squired from what I could see.
He made a big fuss about being a brewer, put it in the name and all, but didn't seem to serve up a brew to anybody.

Any one using kodi and iptv addons? Heaps better than Netflix!
I'm keen to investigate further after reading kaiserben's post, but I've only got a small data limit with un-metered Netflix thrown in.
Between SBS, ABC & Netflix I can still find enough to watch.........but if I had unlimited data???

At the moment 1 channel is my go to for tv shows and DNA tv for iptv discovery channel is on a lot at my place!

I used to use Navi-X and 1Channel etc, but Exodus is probably the best add on right now (although, slightly annoyingly, I did have to create an account with Trakt - via the Trakt website - in order to be able to create/save lists of stuff to watch).
