Gday everyone,
Well here we are on a monday night. I have started another brew well started yesterday anyway. Am trying to Brew a nice wheat pilsner.
I have just checked my tempretures and stuff to make sure my fermenter is doing its job and the yeast is quite busy doing its job.
The Tempreture has remained steady at 18'c but tonight looking through my lid of the fermenter i can see the froth but there is also some brown stuff on top the beer still smells great through the airlock and am a little worried as I have sanitized and ben very very thorough in this area.

Has anyone else seeen this before on the top of the froth in there wort.

My starting SG was 1.050

I have just checked it again and had a closer look it looks as though the brown stuff has a skin

Im worried

Thanks Guys

Thats perfectly normal its basically a combo of protien, substances from the hops, decaying yeast cells and what not. Its all very normal. It looks much darker than the yeast itself and will be on the very top it may look a bit oily even.
It'll be fine.
