Hi

We're off to spend a couple of days in Wollongong at the end of the month.

Does anybody have any recommendations for good pubs (esp. brewpubs) in or around Wollongong?

Thanks and Cheers!

Five Islands is a brewpub & has a great view. Jugs for $11 last time I was there & you can walk straight off the beach & grab a pint. Maybe some of the Illawarra Brewers Union lads could meet you for a brew if you're keen?
Cheers

Five Islands is about it, period. Well worth the visit - at the end of Crown Street Wollongong right on the beach. Around the 'Gong, any pub with Coopers on tap (or possibly James Squire) is considered too decadent for the local yokels. Just simple folk we Gongsters.

My favourite drinking hole is still The Champion at Towradgi - occasionally some good beers on tap and entertainment isn't too bad.

Where in Wollongong you staying - big place - where you stay may well influence suggestions.

The Open Hearth at Warrawong has a couple of Paddy's beers on tap.
Not sure if they rotate them or they stick with the same two.
We had the Black, which we assumed was The Porter.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions. Unfortunately we've had to put the date back to the end of March for the visit.

We'll be staying somewhere along the sea front. But more than happy to travel to a good spot.

Cheers and thanks again.
