My little brother was in Sydney last week. Normally he isn't much of a beer person and will quietly consume a Tooheys New or similar.

I (on the other hand) am an absolute beer nut so I dragged him along to Northmead cellars (aka WorldBeers.com.au) and we picked up a few beers - Franziskaner Kristal, Franziskaner Hefeweissen, SNPA, Timmermans Peche and Timmerans Geuze - for a tasting session.

To my surprise, his favourite was geuze!

He is back in Brisbane and called me about 30 minutes ago to say that he has geuze on his mind and that he needs a fix ;-).

A quick search of the web (including this site) revealed many recommendations for Liquor Savers in Lutwyche so I sent him there, however he just called to say that they don't have what he wants.

Can anyone else suggest a bottleshop in Brisbane where he might be able to pick up geuze?

Thanks.

I can't think of having seen the Timmermans gueze up here, only the fruit ones.

Best places would be:

1st choice, particularly one of the bigger ones. Check their website for locations.

Dan Murphys. Ditto.

Best Cellars in the valley. Little bottleshop up Brunswick St a little. Near a spanish place and gelati shop. Don't know the address or details I just go there sometimes. I'm pretty certain I haven't seen it there either...

If he does find it let me know as I'm itching to get one for Dad.

Otherwise, others might have better recommendations.

Thanks for the tips. After ringing around the various suggestions, I have found that Lassiters Cellars (previously Best Cellars) at Central Brunswick, Fortitude Valley has a few bottles.

Get amongst it!
