German made Borosilicate glass bubbles

I was at a very interesting talk by a German scientific glass blower. His town in Germany has all the expertise in this specialist field. 200 families . I have tried to describe how HIGH a quality German made borosilicate glass flasks are without much luck on this forum. Anyhow he now targets females and sells Christmas Bubbles (baubles ) made of borosilicate glass . He does demonstrations where he bounces them off the table . He is making a killing, making more money than ever before in his life.....funny.

I can remember he considers himself Franconian not Bavarian , I can't remember the town name at the moment.

Probably Mainz, (just out of Frankfurt.) - That's where the main Schott glass factory is.

Only saw it from the train, but it is frickin' huge!

Darn, I was staying in Mainz for a couple of days waiting for my flight home, I could have looked into them.
