Gas Pressure

Sorry for the noob question I need to work something out so I can start on my gas manifold. Whats the maxium pressure C02 will be needed after leaving the regulator?

You are going to get lots of answers mine is:-

Have a look at the kegs they will have a pressure rating - you will never need to go higher than that.

Cornelius kegs say 900 kPa (thats the test rating) the PRV (thats Pressure Relief Valve if your really new at this) usually lets go at around 350 kPa and most CO2 regs are limited to around 450 kPa.

I use around the 250kPa mark when force carbonating and serve at around the 100kPa mark. The 350kPa on the PRV that MHB mentioned is probably a good spot to aim.

If you think you will ever want to dispense soda water, allow for 300 kPa.

Its been a expensive day, after the lecture the BOC guy gave me about C02 when I picked my bottle up this afternoon I decided there was no cutting corners/saving on manifold.

I ended up going to a farm ag shop wheres there are more fittings then subway has fillings. Lucky I had half a day off and I lunch before I went shopping because unlike bunnings there was no cafe.

I put together a manifold which I will give pics to you tomorrow that cost me a small fourtune but I will beable to build onto it. In terms of cost, omfg I handed the bloke back the docket in fear I would leave evidence in my wallet and the wifey would find it.

Wasnt that bad 82.00$ considering the manifold will handle 4 kegs each with there own tap. All constructed out of brass fittings and fits in your hand.

It's not that cheap once you add all the barbs etc but still seems like a better option to me...

Okay Lets work this out.

Manifold 31.00
Ball Lock Valves x4 60.00
End Blockx2 5.00
Male Barbed Tail 7.00
Postage 10.00

Total = 113.00$

So I think my manifold is better, if at a later stage I want a 10 way manifold all I have to do is add a few more pieces.

Better option? More expensive option

I am looking at making soda water / soft drink for the kids party. So you are saying that it needs to be at a higher pressure than the beer???

That being the case at what pressure do you gas water for soda water/soft drink????
