Hey all, thought I would give a heads up as I saw the first episode of this funny documentary last week and found it entertaining. It is on Thursday on SBS at 830pm.

Basically Neil Morrissey (actor from UK comedy Men Behaving Badly) and his mate Richard Fox (a chef that specialises in cooking with beer) plan to open their own pub and micro brewery and brew and market their own brand of beer accross the UK and from their pub.

Last week they did their first AG brew, and sampled it out of a corney keg accross pubs in the UK travelling in a caravan with their prescious keg (which they thought they lost one night when they got pissed in a pub and walked home with their keg under arm and woke up in their caravan to not be able to find it) and in a taste test in the city...it was their first AG brew and took the 2 of them 10 hours to do! pretty funny.

They then purchased an old pub with the intention of building from scratch their own micro brewery to brew their own creation of beer, and tonights episode takes up from there. I am not sure how many episodes ther are but it looks at how they plan on making and marketing their brew, the legalities, the set up of the pub and their micro brewery etc.

Pretty interesting, and pretty funny as well, and a good look at how they plan on setting it all up.

Worth a look and a laugh!

Yeah I caught the last 10 - 15 minutes of this last week, it was surprisingly good! You can watch full episodes of most SBS shows from the past 7 days at www.sbs.com.au

Thread on this from when it first came out 2008 in Pubs section.
Also known as Idiots Brewing Badly. Link to Risky Business

Did you catch the guy that holds all the beer world records that can drink 90 Pints in 3 hours, and can scull a pint in less than 1/2 a second!

Man...keep him away from your home brew!

Butters

I don't think funny is the right word.... anyway their business collapsed, I don't think they thought it through very well.

Thanks for the thread about this show.
I just watched the first episode @ the SBS site, my grandson grabbed the mouse and stuffed it half way through but I recovered. Thank (insert your deity here)!
I found it interesting that a couple of "blokes" could make a batch that goes down well and not know anything about brewing, although they just waltzed into a HBS and bought what they needed @ about $300... I wish!
I still can't make a decent beer. I'll be watching the next one.

 Anyone know of a working Torrent for this show???

Richard Fox to Neil Morrisey on the show last nite, after doing the sums..."Every day the pub is shut, we are down the sink 3 grand!"
Morrisey looked thoughtful for a mo, then came out with... "maybe we should go up to Picadilly and suck a few cocks?"
I thought I hadn`t heard rite, replayed it and that`s wot he said
Entertaining show tho, but that Richard F ox needs to get his head off the beer labels, he`s not the most photogenic bloke around.

I think next week is the last episode.

Have not been watching this time around but IIRC there are only 4 episodes in the series.
Only slightly better than the South Africa World Cup= Long Way Down copycat.
