Hi all, long time reader, first time poster.

Just looking for any tips people might have with regard to carbing / force-carbing the mini kegs (4L) version?

Using the 16g cartiridge, wondering if anyone has perfected the process?

I had a crack last week but the beer seems flat.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Do you do keg normally? I've just got mine hooked up in my keezer, ready to switch to bulbs for serving.

If I were to give this a go (and I probably will in the coming months) I'd apply the Ross method, but shaking for 1/5 as long (since a 4L keg is ~1/5 the capacity of a 19L)
Probably won't be spot on but I guess it's a good starting point.

You state you are using 16g cartridges and therefore according to QLDkev's co2 usage calculator (I find this accurate) one cartridge will only carb .8 of a 4 litre keg. I would therefore dispense the whole cartridge into a cold keg rocking the keg back and forth to dissolve the gas then put in fridge for an hour or so to settle, then attach another cartridge and leave to finish off carbination with rest for dispensing.
Cheers

dont normally keg no, but looking to go this method. the mini keg was more about portability.

it seems ill be best to keep the cartridges for serving, and by a cylinder and some 19L kegs, and top up from there.
