Hi Guys

Over the last 6 months I have put together my 3v Herms System after moving from BIAB in an urn and thinking that I wanted to build a big system so that I could brew larger quantities less often as I am time poor with work and family but I am now thinking that I went down the wrong path. I am now looking to move across to a 50ltr Braumeister as the thought of pulling out and setting up my system and then cleaning it down is daunting and discouraging me from brewing. I have done a few brews on this system bent still have more work to do to get the brew day working well and just don't have the time to play around with it.

I am putting this up for sale for $1,500. I am not interested in selling off the individual items as I will just keep brewing on this for now and may even change mind down the track... But if I can sell it I would grab a brau.

The system is made up of the following:

HLT. 100ltr pot from CB with 2 x 2200w elements

MT. 98ltr mash tun from Beer Belly with all the usual bells no whistles in their mash tuns.

HX. Birko 5ltr urn with HERM-IT coil and HERM-it controller

boiler. 100 Ltr pot from CB with Beerbelly Italian spiral burner and high pressure gauge.

Also included is the all stainless table and various tubes and 3 way ball valves... No need to swap hoses during the brew as the hoses are plumbed up to run through the 3 way valves and 2 x brown pumps.

I can provide more detail if anyone is interested etc but this should be enough to let you know about the system.

Let me know if any questions.

Tis the season to sell brew rigs.

Agree with djar, but can understand the reasoning. Very nice setup Camo. Very nice price too. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah I would love to keep it but I just don't have the time to get it all set up perfectly to make a quick brew day.... I can always build another one down the track!

Brew porn .. noice..... buy it while u can

What sort of work does it need or is it more getting used to the process??

Dropping hints in SWMBO's direction.......

Camo, don't sell, instead buy a bag.

You've got plenty of options with all that gear to do BIAB. Gas or Electric. With or without the Hermit, which almost makes it a Brau. And when the time allows you can finish the rig.

Either way, good luck.

really just fine tuning the system.... If I was to continue with the system I would probably eventually upgrade the hot side pump to something with some more balls and look at mounting the boil kettle on the bench.... there is plenty of space but I am not 100% on staying with the gas burner so was leaving that last step before cutting into the bench to mount the gas burner.

I went straight from BIAB to this so am really just learning the whole 3v method... I have done around 6 brews on this with step mashes, fly sparge etc etc so the system handles it well but just me fine tuning it and getting it all right.

I built this earlier in the year when I just had a 10 year old boy who spends most of his weekend at his friends place down the street but with a 5 week old and a new role at work I really don't have time to tinker away and spend 8 hours on a brew day (not the systems fault)..... plus I am a bit obsessive compulsive so I got hooked on building it and now my mind is on the Brau so there's no changing my mind! :D

Just tell SWMBO that it is all about the kids!

shameless bump....

off to pick up the BM today (got the ***** that I didn't get around to brewing on the weekend just been so getting straight into the BM!)

Have 1 guy interested but he is looking at freighting it so may not go through.

If it doesn't sell by next week I'll be taking the bench out of the $1,500 price tag as upon thinking more about it I am crazy to let it go... got it for free from work and would cost a fortune to replace it.... the remaining gear is still a steal at $1,500 though.

I am sure the missus will switch on sooner or later that I still have both systems but I'll tackle that one when it comes up!
