Thanks everyone for the replies. Helped me to crystalise an opinion. Stainless flow control perlicks or nothing. Grain mill first. Then taps.

So from the replies I assume flow control wins hands down over forward sealing?

Thanks!
Sorry to throw ambiguity into the works, but I will anyway :p

I have about a 50/50 split on what out customers request. I wouldn't sell more flow control than the 525SS.

The 525 has the stainless steel advantage for now but also for someone with a very well balanced system the simplicity of the design in a 525 is a big plus. It has very little in the way of internal workings and what is in there is shaped in a sphere causing less turbulence.

However the flow control allows you to be pouring a pint one minute and a growler the next without stuffing around with the keg pressure. Obviously that same sort of control makes life really easy when having trouble balancing your system and dealing with intermittent problems between each keg.

i don't have any experience with the Celi's but have heard good things.

I saw a post from King Brown Brewing today or yesterday saying they are coming out very soon.

 Aren't the flow controlled ones forward sealing anyway?????
I assume you are referring to Perlicks. I have SS Cellis which have flow control but they are not forward sealing.
