Nothing cr%ps me more off than an ebay listing with the photo the wrong way...it's not that hard hey?

They do say size doesn't matter....

Looks quite interesting. Has anyone had experience of using a coil like this for chilling the actual fermenter instead of putting a fermenter in a fridge?

Not hard to find an actual working fridge for that money, or less.

If its to chill from the kettle down to ferment temp teh immersion chiller is the best bet. If its to maintain ferment temps i think you'd be asking for trouble because you wouldn't be able to seal it up. PLus you'd waste a lot of water.

IN saying that, a stainless immersion chiller is not going to be as good as a copper one. Copper conducts heat way better so will chill your brew faster.

Also, the cheapest option is nochill :)

Has anyone purchased an immersion chiller from the usa?

100 bucks for a SS immersion chiller delivered?

I bought one of the 50foot ones off the website about a year ago.

Pretty decent. It does 'lean' which I guess is a trait of coil they make it from. I've never had a copper one so I couldn't say which is quicker at cooling wort. It is pretty easy to clean, a bit of water, some soap, a sponge and 2mins elbow grease and its clean as new.

It wasn't cheap once freight was taken into account. But, its stainless and will probably last 20 years...
