This is more a warning than anything else. DO NOT bother with this seller!
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-CHEST-FREEZER-215LT-LIGHT-SINGLE-BASKET-12-MONTHS-WARRANTY-R600-GAS-/270847558414?pt=AU_RefrigeratorsFreezers&hash=item3f0fc5c30e

Growing up in Sydney's inner west, I'm well versed in which details make for a dodgy Ebay sale. Normally, I wouldn't even waste my time driving past, but I had to go out to one of my suppliers in the area and figured why not have a look in person.
Nothing to lose and worth a sticky.

All the items I was shown were in the process of being refurbished by the seller. Most were still being worked on and the chest freezer in the link looked like it had been salvaged in a council clean up.
I was laughing at the guy while he was trying to tell me he had boxes for them and they were all brand new. "You just need to give them a good clean" he said.
I asked him why it wasn't even the same size as he'd given me over the phone, so he grabbed my tape measure and pretended it was hard to understand the markings. He then tried to upsell me on a bigger unit!

Needless to say, I did not buy anything.

Comedy gold boys and girls! If you need a good laugh, and are in the area, drop in for a sales pitch that'll have you in stitches.

PS. I will be reporting him to Ebay. Not that it will do much.

After looking around for ages for a cheap thermowell for the HLT on the 3V rig I'm building, finally found these on ebay
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/probe-of-temperature-sensor-for-water-tank-sensor-tube-for-solar-water-heater-/330946485361?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4d0df29c71&_uhb=1

Might grab another for the fermenting freezer as well and experiment with cutting a hole in a fermenter to mount it in

BTW, these will be having the probe from an STC1000 inserted in them with a glob of thermal paste to make sure there's good contact

They look good Spork, but I didn't see a mention in regards to being food grade?

In one of the images it mentions they're Stainless
I know Chinese "Stainless" isn't always what it advertises itself to be, but I'm willing to give it a go

Are these 1/2" or 3/4"? The ad seems to indicate both...

If it's designed to go into a hot water service (which we consume from) then I would hope food grade.
