saw a thread a few nights ago that ended with a few humorous comments by some regulars, about enjoying a beer or2 while brewing. All very amusing but no-one should forget that there are more things to go wrong drinking/brewing than just a dud brew. After (too) many years of enjoying 1 or 2 while brewing, and a few (painful)experiences, thought i'd give some tips to make the brew/drink day a lot easier :chug: Prepare as much before brew day (weigh hops, grain, etc,Set your system up early,(kettle ,mash tun, etc).Forgetting to put in a mash tun false bottom or a kettle screen might be a pain, but loose clamps and boiling wort are MUCH more than that.Start your day off in a fit state so all is right to start.Tripping over electrical /march pump cords can be bloody dangerous if not fatal if you mix liquid into the equation Brew safe! You get the idea.Too pissed to add any more,Thank god i'm not brewng :icon_cheers: .

Drinking while brewing is all very well... telling yourself you'll wake yourself up in 10 minutes (during a boil, after a few scoops...), is inexcusable...

Awesome Concentrated boil there.
Wack it in a tin and sell it as a heavily smoked stout kit.

Bloody great advice,

Our brew weekend just gone, after a quick K&K brew, me and a mate made an extract brew, topped the fermenter up to 21 litres and then realised , oh crap, we hadn't put in the can of liquid malt. :( Brew ended up at a tad over 22litres.

Put this down to having a tallie of 4.5% Draught, followed by two tallies of 6.5-7% stout on a warm 33C Humid day. :drinks:
Note to self, hide comfy chairs whilst brewing. Don't want to make our own concentrates.
