I have a few friends who dont brew but were interested in the brewing process so I organised a brewday BBQ at my place so they could experience the process first hand. I decided to brew a 23 litre batch instead of my normal 50 litres to save a bit of time. I ended up with 22 litres in the fermenter.

At the end of the day one of my friends counted the emptys. 27 x 800ml longnecks (nearly 22 litres). Net gain to beer stocks zero  .

Anyone else had this happen?

I counter this problem by only providing 'strong' beer.
Anything over 7% will do.

Oh well at least you will be popular. Ive never had that much consumed though.

Jayse had a classic of this sort a few years back, is posted somewhere in the depths of AHB.

Went something like this:

Brewday proceeded ok, mates helped drinking lots of beer, Jayse fell asleep, woke up to find that his "mates" had demolished part of his shed to have something to burn in the fire, a tap open so that wort was running down the drive and the kegs empty.

Sounds to me like you've reached equilibrium. Carry on like this and everything will be right in the world.
