Hi everyone! As per the title, I have a question about crown seal bottles with roughness at the lips. I was given a batch of longneck bottles, but some of them appear to be quite old and have what might be described as "microchips" at the aforementioned spot. Photo attached to illustrate. I'm wondering if such bottles would still seal up ok, or would it be best not to use them? Many thanks in advance!

I've never seen bottles like that. Looks like they've been put in a crate upside down and then dragged through gravel.
Why not put them to one side and just use, say, the 3 worst ones to see what happens and use good bottles for the rest of the batch.
