Just added another couple of Fresh Wort Kits to our range this week. Pretty excited with the results from the kettle sour with fruit added at the end of fermentation. My favourites are the Passionfruit and Strawberry versions. Clean lactic sourness combined with the fruit makes for a extremely refreshing beer. Great for a thirst quencher and works really well as palate cleanser during a big tasting session.

Kettle Sour http://craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=6327 : Carrying on from the range of Kettle Sour beers we produced in the brewery recently we have produced a fresh wort kit version. It is a blend of Pils and Wheat malt that we mashed normally in the big Braumeister. The wort was given a quick boil and the temp lowered to 45 Deg C. We then added a Lactobacillus culture to the wort in the Braumeister. We maintained the temp for 48 hours for the souring process to bring the pH down to 3.5. The wort was then boiled for 60 minutes with a small addition of Magnum to give 10 IBU. Ferment with yeast of choice and add fruit to the fermenter if desired.

American Wheat http://craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=6330 : Easy drinking American Wheat / American Blonde Ale. Comes in around 4.5% and 20 IBU hopped with Mosaic.

Cheers
Anthony
