Computer Experts - Help Needed

Have you done a Windows reinstall and it worked? I'm a big advocate of havig a separate data partition to make backups and reinstalls easier, but I always assumed that programs wouldn't work, as you wipe the registry settings when you reintall the OS?

Only with XP booting from CD and repair installation. It just replaces the bad parts and leaves the registry alone I think. You have to do all the Microsoft updates all over again.

Yeh, good point. A repair would work, reinstall wouldn't. But worth doing for the repair alone.
