Every time I pop over his I buy takeaways (the one downside of kegging everything)

Not at all! I just take the keg with me. ;)

One of my rules is that if you take beer to someones house, you never leave with it (un-australian, I tell you, to take your beer back away with you!!! well so my dad always taught me). Anyway everytime I revisit his house, there are my good beers sitting untouched in his fridge while he continues to drink his swill (double sigh!!).

IMO, This rule is open to debate when the host is a knob-jockey. We took some wine over to the wifes friends' place, only for some of it to be put in the cooking. I was too shocked to say anything. When we obviously ran out of wine sometime later, his wife mentioned there was cask on the fridge, only to be answered with "no thats for the cooking". I could've smashed the $%^&. MIght I add, he is a lawyer.

We visited their place again on the weekend and I wasted some really good HB on him. As we left I reclaimed a mate's IPA, and left my dodgy toucan-oatmeal stout in the fridge. I'm never wasting any more good stuff on him.

Seriously, when I told him that with the All grain setup I could potentially brew any type of beer, his first words were "Can you brew Toohey's New for me?". sigh!!!!

That is a bit like the guy that walked into the brewery about half an hour ago and asked if we were ever going to brew something like Crown Lager..... I said I hoped not.

Was I a bit rough ?

I think it is important to try as many beers as possible to keep your palate and expectations in check.
This also applies (I believe) to proffesional brewers as well. You have to keep checking what beers apart from your own taste like, and if you are like me it is impossible to have every style of beer you want to drink in a week available as your own beer all the time.

My consumption last night was
Hunter Draught (shared)
Hunter Old (shared)
My Bitter Ale
Mountain Goat Stout (shared)
Red Duck Porter

i bought some crazy **** for you to try Sam. One is a Belgian chocolate beer :)

Nice work on the Crownie comment Beersom, you should have slapped him as well.
