Hi all just after a bit of feedback on chillers.

I realise you can go many ways & all work.

I was thinking using a plate chiller. Can you use a hop back with these.

Do you use them outside of the wort & does it go straight into youre fermenter in one pass.

Do you also need a pump.

Also are they very hard to clean.

Just reserching equipment to AG

How does the cube method work cortez

There is a heap of information on this forum

Essentially after the boil to run the near boiling wort into a plastic cube (a water storage container eg 20L or 25L - there are a few sizes available from camping stores etc)

Squeeze out the air and seal it up

You then let it cool overnight

Pour it into a fermenter (allowing it to splash as much as possible) and pitch your yeast

It eliminates the use of a chiller

Have a search for "no-chill" on this forum - there are a lot of threads on it

Cheers
