a while back i was force carbing some kegs, and i had the reg turned down and there must have been more presure in the keg so it got into the reg (cant remember exactly how i did it but i did).

It was working ok, but i notice that it was sticking.... eg set a pressure and pour a beer and the reg didnt top the Co2 up, give the vent on the keg a short open and it jolted the reg into action where you would hear it even out the pressure and settle again.

I have swaped it with another reg i had however its not as nice so i would like to clean? this one and re-install it. Is this possible?

Some can be serviced.

Craft brewer does a repair kit for the Micromatic. CraftBrewer site Have a look for the Lancer Pacific, a kit may be available. Even if you dont get the kit it will tell you straight away if it can be serviced.

Warning: Regulators are a pressure instrument & repairs should only
be carried out by a qualified fitter.

think that rules me out :( and i have not found a set for this regulator either so maybe it can not be done.

have to have a re-think and get some one way valves so i never have this issue again :(

There is an enormous amount of energy in a full CO2 bottle, keep it in mind if you ever pull a regulator apart and put it back together again.

:(

It may not be a smart thing to do -- but nonetheless I have pulled apart a regulator, given it a clean out and put it back together again. Mine was an old Andale ... whether you can do it to yours without blowing your legs off... I dunno.

Dunno about the legs, getting de-knackered wouldn't be pleasant

So i ruined on reg by having beer go through it, and i didn't do anythign about it. Months later i kept getting infections... anyway opened it up and it was full of mould and crap, so i threw it.

I was distraught when months later i managed to do it to my new reg one night after a few too many ales.. so i hooked up a keg of warm water and sanitiser and forced a little of that through the reg too.. not sure if it's reccomended (i'm sure it's not) but it's one way to do it!

They're easy as to strip down and clean. I done heaps of the buggers.
