Also Batz, Ross and anyone else who has the decals on their taps. What is the internal diameter of the clamp (which I'm thinking should be the same as the post) and the clearance from the top of the clamp to the bottom of the decal? just wondering how high I need to set the posts so that if I put them on they can be seen..... might have to skip down to the local and see if i can borrow one to measure up.

Hope this helps

Brilliant! don't tell me that was on your site somewhere? I had a look and saw them but not with the measurements.

cheers

LOL - no mate, just did it up for you :)

Thanks Ross, you're handier than me with a computer then. Now I just have to machine some posts up for them to sit on. Just been reading up and found that the standard female thread on a font is 3/4BSP. Does this sound right? if I make the ten posts made up with a 3/4 BSP female thread run in them will that cover me for screwing in the different adaptors and taps?

Cheers

Sounds right, but I'd be giving one of the wholesalers like Andale a ring to make absolutley sure - Or GMK is pretty good on these things if he spots this thread. I'm not 100% on all the thread types.

Does anyone know anything about these fittings?
adaptor.jpgadaptor2.jpg

I was going to get a mate to machine an adaptor similar to this out of stainless. sorry about the paint drawing...
View attachment adaptor3.bmp
It would basically go from a female 3/4 BSP for the snaplock connection to screw in, down to male 5/8 BSP which would fit through a hole in the wall of the font and be fixed with the nut. it would then fit this barb to run the line on.

Might be easier to machine it with the barb on the attachment and have it all one piece?

I don't know a great deal about the snaplock fittings but I believe that a 5mm hole bored straight through the adaptor and run into the fitting should work???just thinking of problems with turbulence etc, and obviously making sure that it will seal.

I was thinking the 5/8 hole in the font would also enable me to fit celli and other fridge mounted taps straight on the font if I take the adaptor off. However after reading this thread http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...elli&st=15#

its looks like at 20mm hole might be the way to go (prob 3/4).

hmmm, any ideas? any confirmation on the mounting hole size of most fridge taps?

Sent you a PM to give me a ring.

Your cheapest option is to use the above 3/4 BSP Female nut and tail with a 6mm Barb.
Drill a hole taht the Barb can go thru.
weld the female nuet onto the font rail with the hole centered.
insert barb tail thru female into font rail - insert washer and screw in snaplock fitting - (blatent add here - i sell these SS for 35.00 ea or 3 for 100.00) The snaplock fitting will allow the Barb tail to be locked in place while you fit the beer line and clamp.

Then connect the 6mm beer line and calmp onto the 6mm nipple.

This setup will allow you to fit snaplock taps - eg Floryte, perlick, grundy, etc.

The adavantage to the sanplock is taht when you remove the tap - the beer is automatically cut off.

Hope this makes sense.

Tip;
As you dont know how many taps you will have - start with 3 - one on each end piont and one in the middle.
Then add in 2's on each side.

A 2 door commercial fridge with a flat bottom approx 1.5m wide will hold 10 kegs on the bottom shelf and leave you another 2 shelves for yeast/beers and glasses.

Hope this helps
