After being still for a week my stout has started bubbling again!

The Pilsner before did the same after being in the secondary a week.

They taste ok abit gassy though

Any ideas people?

Seasons greetings!!

Might be able to guess, could be various reasons, do you know........

Did the temp raise in the secondary?

What was your gravity after you transfered from the primary?

How long was it in the primary for?

What yeast?

What temp was the primary and secondary at?

Airlock movement is not a very good guide as to what is going on in your fermenter. Use your hydrometer and check if there has been a drop in sg.

When your beer ferments, it generates carbon dioxide, most comes out the airlock, some stays dissolved in solution. You can see this carbon dioxide when you take an sg sample and the beer foams. Due to changes in temperature the dissolved carbon dioxide starts coming out of solution, making the airlock slowly gloomp for many days after fermentation has ceased.

If you are having a drop in sg a week after transferring to secondary, you are having infection problems.
