I don't know what to blame, the schooies or the laptop and this forum.

But tonight I missed the 10 min to go hop addition and the koppafloc so I decided to extend the boil all out a bit. Fortunately I don't think it'll affect this beer too much. Fingers crossed.

BAH.... that's nothing, a recurring one of mine is draining the first runnings then hearing splashing on the floor because the tap is open on the tun. Or running in the sparge water then to hear it running into the kettle because I forgot to shut the tap. Forgetting to take preboil and post boil readings is par for the course. These problems cube if you do a second brew.

cheers

Browndog,

Those are sweet words for one who has mucked up significantly for the first time.

I've got to say though it doesn't seem like a big deal sitting here outside listening to JJJ pump the living end and supping on a brillaint light english bitter.

All the best.

Scott

Got a bit worse for wear and left it in the kettle overnight, went up to the Shed the next morning and there was Irish Moss all over the brewlog, the 'entries' into the brewlog got less and less legible as you read down the page, all the Hop addition containers were empty so i guess i must've got those in there somewhere.
It was a big day.....

You just know it will end up being your best beer. :D

Leant too close to the brew kettle (and 4 ring burner) to get a look at the boil and my shirt dangled in the flames and caught fire. Luckily I was able to quickly hand off my beer and pat the flames down - not a drop spilt ;)

The best beer I ever made was when I drank way too much.
Problem is I can't quite remember what was in it.
Belgium blonde ale.

i always drink beer when brewing and bottling i also have smoke breaks and just plain old sit down for 5 mins breaks.its the only way to enjoy it....

i done the lid up to tight when sanitizing for bulk priming, had everything ready to go .just needed to empty the sanitizer out of the fermenter.
the lid was put on to tight (dunno who done that?) so squashing the tub between my knees to get a bit of traction and unscrew the lid i cracked the fermenter with my knees and the lid was still on there.

p.s it wasnt the beers fault(i dont think) it must have been coz it was an old tub
