Black Hops: Black Ops

Gold coast gypsy brewers (with a spanking new brewhouse currently in production) Black Hops Brewing have managed to land themselves a deal with Activision to release an official Call of Duty beer in conjunction with the newest CoD game.

I couldn't be more stoked for them. Dan, Eddie and Govs are absolute legends and it's such a massive coup for a company that barely existed a year ago.

I don't think this is a good brand pairing at all.

Call of Duty is the VB of gaming - huge behemoth that uses advertising to overpower small guys making interesting stuff.

I get that it will open up more people to craft beer, but this comes across as brand collaboration for the sake of it (the names) rather than a well-thought out strategy on behalf of both companies.
