well, brew day has come and gone. thought id ditch the bucket idea and i went and bought a cake rack and put in to the bottom of my pot.

I heated my water up to mash temp 0f 66C put the bag in and mashed for 90 mins. Stirring every 15 mins. Added a little heat after 45 mins (1.5C) with bag still in. Wrapped in a blanket between stirs.
After mash finished i raised temp to 75C with bag still in it. Mashed out for 10 mins. When it came to lift the bag my father in law found an OLD winch with a hand crank on it in his shed. Lifted the bag out and just let it hang while I squeezed the bejesus out of it. Then continued on with the boil.

My efficency into the kettle worked out to 79.3%. :beerbang: Little bit better that the low sixties i was getting from my first couple of brews. Think i might ditch the sparge idea now.... :icon_cheers:

Cheers to all for your help.

Richard
