Betadine

gday brewers,

my sanitation involves betadine and starsan, the betadine i usually use is in the red bottle at a rate of 5ml per 1lt.

er indoors has returned today with more betadine but it's in the blue bottle,

BETADINE SURGICAL SCRUB

contains 7.5% w/v POVIDONE - IODINE

i don't have an old bottle to check against, anyone know if this ok to use as i normally do ?

I have some in the brown bottle, it is 10% w/v Povidone iodine, not sure if this is the same as your red bottle?

my bad, the bottle i normally use is brown, seems this is a little less in strength, good for BACTERICIDAL, FUNGICIDAL & VIRUCIDAL CLEANSER.

No reason to not use two sanitisers- I'm considering getting starsan to augment my iodophor

Except that one seems to do the job for most people.

listening to the brew strong podcast and it seems it's good practice to mix them up once in a while.
