OK I have a couple of new filter housing at home,if you could pump from the fermenter. through a filter and into the keg I'll be interested.

Otherwise I could not be bothered with the double handling, compared with waiting a week.
(Surely there's a "Ross" method of doing this :p )

Good idea Batz :super:
I've got a 45l keg that I use for my filtering, and while it works really good, it's a PITA lugging the gas bottle around, would like to be able to "pump" straight from the fermenter.
Tried the gravity feed trick once, but took over 2 hours  so, yeah c'mon Ross, get that brain working on a pump setup, we haven't got all day you realise :p

I also have [or will have] two filter housings, bought two for $47 with courier costs on ebay yesterday, the blue and the clear :) .
And if someone can come up with the 'fermenter to filter to keg' method, we can call it "The Ross whatever method" and I will be happy :D

Connect your March pump to the out tap of your fermenter with a length of racking hose - easy ;)

cheers Ross

Ross, i checked out your site for the filter. WHere can i get a housing??, bunnins etc??. I have seen similar ones at a water tank place, but i want to gt the right one hahah

Should have them online today with a bit of luck - just finalising everything.

But wouldn't the march pump push the beer with too much pressure for the cartridge

We'd all like to think that Ross is joking. I reckon the O2 uptake and unsanitary pump would be the biggest of your worries. :(

Sorry Norm, it was a bit tongue in cheek, though Zwickel I believe was using a March pump.
As Warren says, a pump at this stage is going to be difficult to use without introducing oxygen into your beer.
If you could pressurise your fermenter with 20 to 40kpa you could filter under CO2 pressure with no problem - Would be great rigged up to a S/S conical :)

Cheers Ross

Wher's the 02 coming from?
Should not be any in your fermenter and surely you will gravity prime the pump, purge the master keg with C02

Well if you reckon it'd be ok & you can restrict the flow a little - you might well become a convert Batz ;)

You're not a real brewer until you push fermented beer through your March Pump. B)

 You're not a real brewer until you stuff a few filters........

 Who is game to try it ?
